The ending to this book is promising and I have a sneaking suspicion that i'll appreciate this book more once I've read the sequal; Just One Year.So honestly I'm quite unsure of how i'd rate or judge this because the story remains largely unfinished. (Which I wont drag on, but it is annoying to read a story and get no sense of finality from it, particularly when said ending isnt reachable for another year.)In terms of enjoyment though it was quite a depressing mood for a travel/romance/freedom novel. I will say that I am very curious as to Willem's journey, despite not falling in love with his character. As a positive, I did enjoy one little mention in regards to getting lost in cities. It rings very true to some of my personal experiences when I was in Europe; especially London.
